The Teaching Train, The Alphabet's names and initial sounds 

​The Teaching Train is the first book in the ABC Read with Me series that teaches English literacy skills-- beginning reading and writing.   

This book can be used in a preschool, or with children of 3 to 4 years old, prior to Kindergarten. It can also be used with older children for second language acquisition, to assist the learning of the consonant letter sounds and short vowel sounds in the English language.

The Teaching Train is designed to teach the names of the letters of the alphabet, the initial sounds of the consonant letters and the short sounds of the vowel letters. ABC Read with Me has created a richly illustrated activity book that constructs into a train with its cargo-- three picture clue cards per letter. Play with the Teaching Train also provides practice with sequencing in alphabetic order, left to right direction of scanning in preparation for reading, as well as an introduction to the parts of speech: the noun, the adjective, and the verb.

The Teaching Train is available in two versions, 2D and 3D. They each teach the same lessons. The 2D version is an easy level craft project, folding into a 2 dimensional train with 3 cards for each letter. The 3D Train is a more difficult craft project taking longer to construct, but when finished is a table top version that can stand on its own.  The 3D version has
3 standing word cards for each letter of the alphabet.
