Danny Dolphin 2, Simple Sentence Construction

Danny Dolphin 2 is the third book in the ABC Read with Me series that teaches English literacy skills-- beginning reading and writing.


Danny Dolphin 2 consists of a collection of word cards--- the C-V-C words learned in Danny Dolphin 1, and the sight or high frequency words--- all organized into parts of speech pockets readily available for constructing simple sentences. 


Danny Dolphin 2 is designed to provide practice in simple sentence building. It uses primary words, and high frequency or sight words. Each word is printed on a moveable card. A symbol on the bottom of each card indicates its part of speech. A provided Symbol and Definition key page, links the symbol (triangle) to the label (noun) and to the definition (a person, place, or thing), effectively introducing the student to the concept that words have jobs. This key page can also be viewed on the Lesson and Instructions webpage. The pocket pages organize and teach the student that words can also be grouped by function. Play with this activity teaches the structure of sentences.


Danny Dolphin 2 is an easy level craft project. Its pages and letter and word cards can be put into a three ring binder for easy storage (binder not included in this purchase), then set out on a table top for easy teaching.
