ABC Read with Me
Lesson/Activity Books for teaching early literacy, Pre-K Through 3rd Grade
The ABC Author to Be book is a
free downloadable template provided
to support your child in applying what they have learned in the first three books -- by creating their own book.
We have also provided them with a chance to publish their book and make it available for other children to read. Just submit it back to us at submit@abcreadwithme.com
We will be choosing a new author every month. Their book will become the free downloadable book, supporting literacy for all children. Check back every month to see what's new.
Danny Dolphin 1, the next step for 4 and 5 year old's, provides practice combining
the sounds of letters into simple first words. Using a moveable alphabet, in a flip pocket and with picture clues, the child has full support in mastering the skill of decoding their first words.
The second Danny, Danny Dolphin 2, works well with 5 year olds now able to decode simple words. They are ready to start combining words into sentences. It uses the words learned in Danny Dolphin 1, and in addition a set of high frequency-sight words, all organized into part of speech pockets. Sentence structure is practiced.
The Teaching Train is designed as an introduction to the alphabet for children 3 to 4 years old.
They will learn the name and sound of the letters, their order, the important practice of left to right scanning and be introduced to the concept of parts of speech.
We have a new book called Platypus Picnic.
It is an entertaining book inhabited by the animals of Australia, and includes a song MP3 file, so you can sing along with the story.
Here is a video trailer of the book..............

Pediatricians say.... For a healthy child, in this computer age, limit screen time by offering non-electronic formats such as books and games. Children need to spend time reading, using their imagination in play and having positive interactions with other children and adults.
